‘Tis the Season… for PTA Reflections Awards The Garden City PTA is excited to begin its season of Reflections Awards ceremonies for the 2011/2012 school year. This year the theme is "Diversity Means..." Designed to enhance rather than replace a quality arts education, the PTA® Reflections Program provides opportunities for students to express themselves and to receive positive recognition for their artistic efforts.

The Garden City PTA is pleased to announce the start of our annual Spring Plant Sale. We are also pleased, once again, to say that Bissett Nursery will be our supplier for this year’s sale! Remember 100% of the proceeds from the sale are distributed back to each of our seven (7) village schools. We encourage all residents to participate in this sale by buying at least one plant.

The Garden City PTA, the Garden City Community Coalition and Garden City SEPTA are excited to co-sponsor New York Times bestselling author, Rosalind Wiseman. Ms. Wiseman is the author of a number of bestselling books about tweens and teenagers, including Queen Bees and Wannabes and Boys, Girls and Other Hazardous Materials.

This year the Garden City PTA is proud to recognize two people for the NYS PTA Honorary Lifetime Membership Award: from our school district, Mrs. Mary Ann Bliss former Assistant Principal of Stewart School and from our community, Mr. Richard Andersen of the GC Recreation Dept. They are being recognized for their distinguished service towards the welfare of our children and youth.
